NF Symposium in Pittsburgh

Here is the NF Symposium Brochure for Saturday April 9, 2016. The event will be hosted from 8:00-4:00 p.m. at the Rangos Research Center in Lawrenceville. You can attend part of the day instead of the full day if you prefer. Please register so we have an accurate count for lunches and refreshments.

Register for symposium attendance on line at Click on Upcoming events and scroll down to the April 9 2016 date . Click on that and you should be on the registration site.

The symposium is about NF 1, NF2 and Schwannomatosis, genetics, latest research and treatments. Although most of the conference is aimed at physicians, families are also invited to attend. There will be a time during lunch when a few families members with NF will be telling their personal stories. Right after lunch, families will have a special session unto themselves for 1 hour to hear about ADHD from Beth Heuer, CRNP our NF clinic nurse practitioner, and I will discuss various resources available for patients and families and guidance for school related issues. The NFCA will discuss their organizations mission and support for families and the CTF will talk about the NF registry.

We can offer free child care in a room next to the symposium IF there is a need. You must call me with your children’s names and ages AND your contact information by March 26 in order for me to arrange the child care.

Hope to see you there!
